What makes First Play different?
Most systems try to do everything. First Play focuses on the core things organizations actually use every week: structure, schedules, payments, media, and travel coordination. It is organized, predictable, and easy to operate without training manuals.
Do we need to be technical?
No. If you can manage a roster or send an email, you can run First Play. It is built for everyday administrators, volunteer coaches, and parents. You do not need IT staff or outside consultants.
How long does it take to learn?
Most administrators are comfortable in a few hours. The structure is straightforward: organizations contain sports, sports contain teams, teams contain athletes. Once that's clear, it'll be smooth sailing.
What about media and content?
Each organization can manage photo galleries and video libraries directly inside the platform. Coaches and admins don't need separate tools to organize team media.
Will parents actually use it?
Parents open it and immediately see what applies to their child. That is the goal. No hunting through menus. No unnecessary sections.
Is this meant for large sports organizations?
It works for both small leagues and larger orgs. The difference is that it stays simple no matter the size. You do not have to become a systems administrator to run your organization.
Are Coaches basically the same as admins?
No. You only see the teams you are assigned to. Organization structure, payment setup, and season configuration stay with admins. You focus on your roster and schedule.
Do I need to manage the whole system as a coach?
You can switch between your assigned teams. Each team keeps its own roster and schedule, so nothing overlaps.
What can I actually control?
You can manage your team roster, view and reference the schedule, and keep track of team details. If something changes at the organization level, it updates automatically on your end. Admins can also give you additional controls, like viewing payments, managing media, and much more.
Will this create more work for me?
The opposite! Instead of answering the same schedule questions or clarifying details in group chats, everyone sees the same information in one place. That cuts down repeat messages.
Do parents contact me through the platform?
Yes, they can. Parents can see updates and team details directly. That usually means fewer basic questions. However yes, there are chat and contact features throughout the software.
Can I see which athletes are assigned to my team?
Yes. Your roster is tied directly to your team inside the organization structure. You are not rebuilding lists manually.
What would I actually use this for?
You would use First Play to see your child’s schedule, view team updates, pay fees, get travel details, and connect with other parents. Everything connected to your child lives in one place. You don’t need to search emails or group chats to stay on top of the season.
Do I have to learn a complicated system?
Of course not. It is structured around your athlete(s). You log in and see their team, their schedule, and their fees. The layout is straightforward. If you can use a calendar and make an online payment, you’ll be comfortable with First Play.
What if I have multiple kids in multiple sports?
If you have more than one athlete in any organization using First Play, each athlete appears under your account. You can switch between them without logging in and out or managing separate accounts.
How do payments work?
All the fees applicable to you are listed clearly in one place. You can pay securely inside the platform. You can see what has been paid and what’s still due. You can even submit partial payments!
But we're a travel team, not a regular team.
Travel details live separately but attached to team events. You get the location, weather, nearby restaurants and essentials, plus commute timing so you know when to leave. We save you from jumping between maps, weather apps, and group texts.
